安庆师范大学是一本省属重点大学，它位于安徽省庐江县城东北部，与合肥市、芜湖市、马鞍山市并列，是一所以教育学、文学、历史学、哲学为主要特色的多科性大学。

安庆师范大学的前身是安徽师范大学，始建于1952年，是新中国成立后第三所师范院校之一。经过60多年的发展，如今已成为一所雄厚的教育、科研、文化交流和社会服务能力相对完备的省属重点大学。

目前，安庆师范大学共有21个本科专业（含1个独立设置的本科专业）、2个独立设置的专科专业、1个独立设置的高职高专专业。在校生近19000人（其中本科生15000余人）。
