My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories，schools，hospitals，cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

In the northeast New Year's Eve,every household is busy,very lively. Men and women,old and young,can not hide the happy expression on their faces.

New year's Eve,women dumplings in the kitchen,the firecracker sound from the outside after five p.m. then and never stopped. The days of winter were much shorter than those of the night,so early in the morning it was dark. But there were firecrackers and a salute,one with one that lit up the sky. Walking under the red lantern,the original red light was waved into silver,but it became clearer. Almost every family name of TV,ready to watch the Spring Festival Gala,the old people are happy with the new clothes chatting. The men huddled in several tables,some drink some playing mahjong playing cards,and the playful spirit,together with the children took lighters and matches went to the yard to put firecrackers. The girl is also very bold,with a lighter face of excitement,no fear of the face,followed by a lot of younger brother,this is a good mix of female bullies.
